Saturday Club, Pool Championshiop & Some Place Else

So the midweek hump took us out partying, which was customary for me in Delhi, where the hangout was "Media Nights" at Turquoise Cottage. So Amrit & I, took a short walk to Prafulla Sarkar Street, picked up the third "musketeer" Kedar, hopped into a cab and headed to Saturday Club.

The Club was abuzz when we walked in. There was a game of Badminton going on with four blokes who seemed to be letting off steam after a hard day at work, zipping around the indoor court attacking that shuttle as though it were their worst enemy. As we opened the door to the Bar. Surprise! Surprise! It was packed. We did manage to dart towards a table and grab it before the door opened again and got straight down to the business at hand. We ordered a couple of large ones while making ourselves comfortable. As the Shammi Kebabs and Fish tikkas kept coming our conversation on the various business possibilities gained momentum. Adding fuel to the fire as we steered to people was the several more rounds of large ones that had been ordered.

An hour and a half later we were quite content and came up with the next joint to head to. Some Place Else at the Park. This place is becoming my regular haunt it seems. Maybe because of the similarities to my erstwhile watering hole. Add to that the fact that they have a live band dishing out great music every day of the week, why not?

So we made an hour long stopover at Amrit's place honing our skills at "POOL" before we set out to Some Place Else.

The usual HIP POCKET was absent, but to stand in were a bunch of guys, who were equally competent. Alot of Jazz background and fused with rock was enought to get the crowd screaming for more. When we were finally leaving at about midnight, they had played their last track for the third time and it seemed they were going to have to do a lot of last tracks for the night.

Later, when I got home and had dinner and was ready for bed, I stepped out in to the balcony and noticed the signs of winter setting in. there was a faint fog in the surroundings.

Winter better be cold, or else all those jackets and sweaters I've got from my stay in Delhi are going to lie in a trunk packed till I go on a holiday to some hill station.
