Sizzlers after a long time

Last evening we went to South City Mall and had dinner at FOOD TALK (the food court there). We decided to do sizzlers as it had been a very long time since we had last had them. So a Mixed Grill Sizzler (Rs. 160) and a Sea Food Sizzler (Rs. 200) along with a Pepsi each. It was Yum.

Kolkata Tramways: The New Trams

Kolkata Metro: Connect East2West Project

Finally Work has started on the East2West Metro. This is an ambitious project which entails connecting Howrah to Salt Lake. The proposed line is interesting as it will have underground and elevated sections. I think the biggest challenge will the the section that will be a tunnel under the River Hooghly connecting Howrah Station to the Metropolis of Kolkata. Once completed thought, I think it will take the much needed load of off the Historic Howrah Bridge. Lets see how long this project takes. The original Metro, India's first, took 22 years and is now being extended beyond Tollygunge on the south till Garia and beyond Dum Dum to Barrackpore, I hear. This is the section on the E.M. Bypass in front of Mani Square Mall.

Trincas 50 Years Anniversary Celebrations

On Friday night we decided to hit Trincas. I had been there a couple of times before and sold the idea to my wife. Surprisingly she hadn’t ever been there and Plan B, who we hadn’t heard in a long time, was reason enough to visit this legendary Eatery on Park Street. To add to that, Trincas was having their Golden Jubilee Celebrations with a line up of bands and singers performing every evening. When we got there, we had to settle for a little table in the corner in The Ming Room and though we were far away from the music the place was buzzing with people and Plan B was already on stage belting songs from yesteryears. Good old classics from Abba and K C & the Sunshine Band. We got down to the business of high spirits and were more than satisfied with the Non-Vegetarian Platter to go along. Plan B signed off with a Classic Elton John song done solo by Anindya on the Keyboards and was followed by the House Band which played at Trincas every evening. After an hour or...
