On Friday night we decided to hit Trincas. I had been there a couple of times before and sold the idea to my wife. Surprisingly she hadn’t ever been there and Plan B, who we hadn’t heard in a long time, was reason enough to visit this legendary Eatery on Park Street. To add to that, Trincas was having their Golden Jubilee Celebrations with a line up of bands and singers performing every evening.
When we got there, we had to settle for a little table in the corner in The Ming Room and though we were far away from the music the place was buzzing with people and Plan B was already on stage belting songs from yesteryears. Good old classics from Abba and K C & the Sunshine Band.
We got down to the business of high spirits and were more than satisfied with the Non-Vegetarian Platter to go along. Plan B signed off with a Classic Elton John song done solo by Anindya on the Keyboards and was followed by the House Band which played at Trincas every evening.
After an hour or more of “spirited music” we wanted to order the main course. Chicken Tetrazinni was the choice, but to our surprise we were told that it would take 45 minutes to an hour and decided to go with an American Chopsuey instead. Finally when the music was over we left feeling thrilled that we had witnessed a day of the 50 year celebrations of this great place.
