Departing from Gandhinagar, our first stop for sightseeing in Ahmedabad was the Auto World Vintage Car Museum. We arrived a tad early, just before 9:00 am, based on the opening times listed on websites, which indicated an 8:00 am opening. However, we discovered that the museum actually opens its doors at 9:00 am. While waiting, we engaged in conversation with the staff and learned some fascinating insights about the museum.
The museum's inception was fueled by the owner's deep passion for automobiles and a desire to preserve these exquisite relics. Today, his son continues to carry forward this legacy. Their collection, amassed from various corners of the world, includes a remarkable fleet of over 250 cars, with approximately 120 of them on display at the museum.
Although some of the cars may not boast the most pristine restorations (if one were to scrutinize them academically), they offer a captivating glimpse into the annals of automotive history. This museum stands as a shining example of the concerted effort required to underscore the value of heritage preservation.
I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this museum for all auto enthusiasts. While you can peruse the images I've captured of the cars on display, I've also included the details as provided by the placards accompanying each car (though some were missing, so I may not have the exact details). To fellow auto buffs, your insights and comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm simply elated to have had the opportunity to witness this astounding collection during our trip.
