Day 29, Sept. 29, 06:
Puja break has started and the first agenda for the day was taking the car out to fill petrol for our first evening ‘Pandal” hopping session. Well since Rahul and I were out, we decided to make the most of it and took a drive down to the Strand via Camac Steet, Park Street and Past the Eden Gardens.
Once we were back we decided to park the car and take a stroll and catch some Pandals while we were still out. So a short walk to the Number 4 Bridge brought us the first one. This is the one, which is visible from the veranda. After that a short walk down and we saw the Durga Road Puja. An impressive chandelier in the rather small pandal was the high point. This was prmptlt followed up by a walk through the Park Circus Maidan and we were at one of Kolkata’s more famous Puja’s. I must say I was disappointed. I remember it being colossal when I was a kid.
