Unrest on the Streets

So as I predicted while walking to office, the streets have become a battle zone around Park Circus and it's adjoining areas.

Watching all the coverage and the frenzy being created by the images on TV by the media, I decided to take a stroll down to the hot zone and see for myself what the fuss was all about.

Mullick Bazar was completed locked down and the Police had taken control of the situation. The RAF in all their riot attire had pushed the mob off the streets and all that remained were bystanders inquisitive like me to know what exactly occurred on these streets and why our daily normal lives had been brought to a standstill and held ransom by the media's battering of images of violence on the streets.

Yes things had gone out of control which was evident from the shards of glass and the bus parked on the side with its shattered windshield, but for it to be blown out of proportion is something I think the media fuels.

And now there's news that the Army has been called in to quell the rioters.

Of course this end of Park Street wears a deserted look with people walking on the streets trying to get any kind of information that they can about the ensuing violence.
