Rewarding Experience with Kids

A couple of weeks ago, I helped out a friend of mine, Nizar. He had made a request if he could bring about a dozen kids to visit our station as part of various extra curricular social activities conducted by him. He had previously taken them on a factory visit to one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Kolkata. So I welcomed the idea and played host to the entourage.

The kid’s ages between 5 and 12 years were a lively, intelligent and inquisitive bunch. I first took them into the conference room and played teacher, teacher with them. It was the most fulfilling hour spent educating and getting educated myself as to the awareness level of children today. I took them through the intricacies of how a radio station works.
Thereafter I took them on a tour of the entire office and studios and letting them experience a show being hosted, being witness to one of our RJ’s being live on air.

At the end of the trip I gave them a send off with a customary goodie. Each of them armed with a 91.9 Friends FM cap. They intern gave me a Thank You card with their entire group’s signature’s on it.

In all it was a very enriching experience and a rewarding way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

    i would sincerely like to appreciate the way rohit welcomed us all, and showed us around the whole office...the kids just loved it...and rohit for your info..we had conducted a camp for these kids...and you would be happy to know that most of them were wearing the 91.9 friends fm cap.

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

I was in Bangalore and this was the only place I actually wanted visit. So here I am taking the tour of India's first aerospace museum located at the HAL facility (opposite the old Bangalore Airport) spread over 4 acres. The displays of actual aircraft are very cool and so are the galleries showing historical pictures and evolution of HAL and its contribution to the nation in Military Aircraft as well as Aerospace. The disappointing thing at the end of the tour was the Gift shop, where I was hoping to find Scale Models of Aircraft and other Memorabilia from the IAF (Indian Air Force), but instead it was a dreary sight to see a shelf which housed Handicrafts! That just didn't make any sense whatsoever. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray.  What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
