Mate I dunno what u guys are happy at but these games are the zenith of corruption in India. The Dixit, Kalmadi and all their cronies has milked the City of Delhi in particular and nation in general dry with their dubious schemes and scams. Sinking Roads, Leaking Stadiums and lame excuses, It is the Commonwealth Games that we are organizing.
ReplyDeleteWell that's the oldest story in the book. Crooked Politicians and rich businessmen who fill their pockets with our money.
ReplyDeleteI was just glad to be part of an epic event and even happier to see the enthusiasm of young children who aren't touched by all this bad stuff that goes on around us.
It was truly amazing to see the fervour and excitment with which they greeted the cavalcade, even though it didn't have one Sports Star or Celebrity.
I understand the gravity of the situation, but loved the spectacular enthusiasm of young India.
I was never a soothsayer, Neither I am a pessimist, but hopefully all your fervor gets a valid justification at the games. Just hopefully.
ReplyDeleteCorruption shouldn't be a deterrence for not hosting an event of this stature and beside politicians, the entire business world is corrupt too.
ReplyDeleteBut the point have always been to mitigate out the corrupt & corruption and inspire the youth of the society, Rohit, quite rightly points this out.
If people back away from doing something, because there is corruption, then nothing will ever get done in India or the world over.
Hey Souvik, I couldn't agree more. It is our duty and good fortune that we can impart some good qulities to our future generations.
