Chinese Lunch

I had promised to take my sister out to lunch and being a weekday, going to far out was not on the cards. So Park Street would have to do. A short walk down from my office and at the crossing of Free School Street and park Street a decision had to be taken. A quick one it was too, Golden Dragon! Neither of us had been there (well in my case atleast I hadn't been there in more than 15 years) and we wanted to try out the food.

The restuarant is very basic and quite small too. Tables are just about 6 inches from each other in that tight little space which accomodates about 8 odd tables. Anyway, the place seemed to be popular as it was completely occupied and as luch would have it, as we entered, one of the tables got free towards the back.

So we immediatel;y got to the business of ordering our food. Soup to start followed by Hakka Noodles, one jumbo prawn and one pork side dish. To wash it down I ordered a fresh lime soda.

The food was ok and the quantity of noodles seemed alittle less than most chinese eateries, but suited me just fine since I had to get back to my desk at office. I didn't want to stuff myself and then fall asleep in front of my computer, considering the load of work I had and a a deadline to meet.

Our order was as below:

So if you want to grab a quick meal for two on a working day, this just might fit the bill.

The 7 Wonders at Eco Park

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. That sighting ignited our decision to revisit the park. Naturally, we concurred that visiting on a weekend would be an exercise in chaos, so we opted for a weekday to fully savor the wonders that awaited us. To our surprise, even on a weekday, the park teemed with visitors. Upon entering Eco Park for a nominal fee of Rs. 30, we were immediately struck by the sheer value it offered. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray.  What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
