Chinatown at the crack of dawn

After bidding BIG BOSS Season 2 farewell on Saturday night and watching Ashu win the bizarre TV reality show on Colors, we called it an early night. Sunday morning was an early start. We got up at the crack of dawn and headed out for Chinese Breakfast at China Town. Yes meatball soup and the stuff like that. It’s one of those things that you have to do if you live in or visit Kolkata.

We got there at about 6.30 am and I got straight to the business of clicking some picking in that already buzzing marketplace. Apart from the Chinese fare, there were pakodas and tea coupled with a fish and sabzi market all doing brisk business at that otherwise ungodly hour for me.

Once I had captured some pictures I got down to the business of eating. I came back home and caught some well deserved zzz’s for the rest of the morning. I settled for Dosas in the afternoon.

This Old Chinese Man got really mad at me for clicking pictures of him having a go at that leg of roast pork. So I had to scoot off after clicking just one picture.

The 7 Wonders at Eco Park

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. That sighting ignited our decision to revisit the park. Naturally, we concurred that visiting on a weekend would be an exercise in chaos, so we opted for a weekday to fully savor the wonders that awaited us. To our surprise, even on a weekday, the park teemed with visitors. Upon entering Eco Park for a nominal fee of Rs. 30, we were immediately struck by the sheer value it offered. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

I was in Bangalore and this was the only place I actually wanted visit. So here I am taking the tour of India's first aerospace museum located at the HAL facility (opposite the old Bangalore Airport) spread over 4 acres. The displays of actual aircraft are very cool and so are the galleries showing historical pictures and evolution of HAL and its contribution to the nation in Military Aircraft as well as Aerospace. The disappointing thing at the end of the tour was the Gift shop, where I was hoping to find Scale Models of Aircraft and other Memorabilia from the IAF (Indian Air Force), but instead it was a dreary sight to see a shelf which housed Handicrafts! That just didn't make any sense whatsoever. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray. What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
