Lunch at The Bangalore Club & A Visit to an Extraordinary Pet Store

Our generous hosts, with whom we were staying in Bangalore, treated us to a wonderful lunch at The Bangalore Club—a place that most people don't get to experience unless they know a member. Stepping inside felt like entering a little piece of history. Clubs like these are among the last remnants of the British colonial legacy that still live on in India, preserving an old-world charm and tradition.

The lunch itself was delightful, with classics like steak served with mashed potatoes, followed by a delicious caramel custard for dessert.

After lunch, our hosts took us to a fantastic pet store unlike anything we had seen before. The store specialised in birds, and we were amazed by the variety on display, including some truly exotic and exclusive birds such as magnificent Macaws. It was an unexpected and fascinating stop that made for a memorable afternoon in Bangalore.

The 7 Wonders at Eco Park

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. That sighting ignited our decision to revisit the park. Naturally, we concurred that visiting on a weekend would be an exercise in chaos, so we opted for a weekday to fully savor the wonders that awaited us. To our surprise, even on a weekday, the park teemed with visitors. Upon entering Eco Park for a nominal fee of Rs. 30, we were immediately struck by the sheer value it offered. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

I was in Bangalore and this was the only place I actually wanted visit. So here I am taking the tour of India's first aerospace museum located at the HAL facility (opposite the old Bangalore Airport) spread over 4 acres. The displays of actual aircraft are very cool and so are the galleries showing historical pictures and evolution of HAL and its contribution to the nation in Military Aircraft as well as Aerospace. The disappointing thing at the end of the tour was the Gift shop, where I was hoping to find Scale Models of Aircraft and other Memorabilia from the IAF (Indian Air Force), but instead it was a dreary sight to see a shelf which housed Handicrafts! That just didn't make any sense whatsoever. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray. What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
