Addition to our Familly & Home

Well after a lot of debate about keeping pets, we finally got Six Little Finches on Saturday. Well the excitement started in the afternoon, when my wife stated that we needed to get bigger pots for some of our plants and so we went and while getting the pots also bought another plant. From there the mission was to get some Finches, as she was completely taken up by our neighbour’s birds. They had just recently got a pair of Finches.

So off we went to Santoshpur where we located the Pet shop that kept birds and Fish. My wife instantly fell in love with a couple of the Finches from the dozen odd that were in the cage. So we started off with two, which became four and finally we picked up six little birdies.

We brought them home, but before that, drove around looking for bowls for their feed and water which we got. The cage was set up among the plans in the Balcony and once they had settled in, we put some food and water for them. Gosh they are a chirpy bunch.

By late evening we had decided to name them. Six Little Finches, three male and 3 female. The only names apt for these new members of our home who were going to spend all their time together in that cage was inspired from our all time favourite sitcom, FRIENDS. So the six of them got their names; Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey.

The 7 Wonders at Eco Park

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. That sighting ignited our decision to revisit the park. Naturally, we concurred that visiting on a weekend would be an exercise in chaos, so we opted for a weekday to fully savor the wonders that awaited us. To our surprise, even on a weekday, the park teemed with visitors. Upon entering Eco Park for a nominal fee of Rs. 30, we were immediately struck by the sheer value it offered. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

I was in Bangalore and this was the only place I actually wanted visit. So here I am taking the tour of India's first aerospace museum located at the HAL facility (opposite the old Bangalore Airport) spread over 4 acres. The displays of actual aircraft are very cool and so are the galleries showing historical pictures and evolution of HAL and its contribution to the nation in Military Aircraft as well as Aerospace. The disappointing thing at the end of the tour was the Gift shop, where I was hoping to find Scale Models of Aircraft and other Memorabilia from the IAF (Indian Air Force), but instead it was a dreary sight to see a shelf which housed Handicrafts! That just didn't make any sense whatsoever. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray.  What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
