Busiest Weekend Ever

We had an Agenda for the weekend which included a visit to New Market to get a bigger cage and some nests for our little Finches. New Market is the Mecca for shopping. Think of anything under the sun and you’ll get it at New Market.

Fortunately for us, New Market wore quite a desolate look because of the transport strike and so we decided to indulge in some big time lukkhagiri. After finalising the cage and stuff, the shopkeeper told us it would take about an hour to customize the cage as per our requirement. So we went into the market and ended up discovering and buying stuff we hadn’t dreamed of getting in a mall, including those fresh green veggies which called out to us.

Nahoum’s was a must and we popped in and had some patties and pastries. That took care of breakfast. After that we headed to Elgin Road to feast on some Momos.

Sunday took us to Mani Square and what better to do than indulge in Macdonalds. I was quite surprised to see that footfalls in this mall had picked up considerably since my last visit.

After Mani Sqaure, we decided to drop into City Centre, Salt Lake since we had come this far. After some lukkhagiri there, we finally headed back home.

By the time I got home I realised that the weekend was over.

The 7 Wonders at Eco Park

Pyramid & Sphinx Our last excursion to Eco Park in Rajarhat dates all the way back to February 2015. Since then, a myriad of transformations has swept through the park. During a recent journey to the airport, we caught sight of the park's latest additions, which had become the talk of the town, visible from Biswa Banga Sarani. That sighting ignited our decision to revisit the park. Naturally, we concurred that visiting on a weekend would be an exercise in chaos, so we opted for a weekday to fully savor the wonders that awaited us. To our surprise, even on a weekday, the park teemed with visitors. Upon entering Eco Park for a nominal fee of Rs. 30, we were immediately struck by the sheer value it offered. HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum

I was in Bangalore and this was the only place I actually wanted visit. So here I am taking the tour of India's first aerospace museum located at the HAL facility (opposite the old Bangalore Airport) spread over 4 acres. The displays of actual aircraft are very cool and so are the galleries showing historical pictures and evolution of HAL and its contribution to the nation in Military Aircraft as well as Aerospace. The disappointing thing at the end of the tour was the Gift shop, where I was hoping to find Scale Models of Aircraft and other Memorabilia from the IAF (Indian Air Force), but instead it was a dreary sight to see a shelf which housed Handicrafts! That just didn't make any sense whatsoever. Vintage Car Show 2018 at The Tollygunge Club

1947 MG TC So here we are once more at The Tollygunge Club on a cold winter morning to catch some rare beauties to warm our hearts. I try to catch these every year if possible and after my recent trip and the number of cars I've seen on it, one would think I'd give it a miss. This year's collection had most of the usual cars with an addition of some more to the fray. What disappointed though was the limited number of super cars on display. But all that said, it's always a joy to see these wonderful gems still being cared for by their owners and offering us a glimpse into automotive history.
