Yesterday was a long day. It was also the first time we had
covered such a long distance in a single day. So having got a feel of time
& distance estimates, I figured we could catch up on some much needed sleep
and we started today’s leg of the journey from Vizag to Hyderabad a bit later.
So the first thing I documented was the distance we had
covered yesterday (897 kms). I was just too tired last night to check the
odometer and wanted to get straight to our room.
We did catch some morning traffic on the way out of Vizag.
And as we drove on one of the fascinating sights on the Highway was these Huge
Statues of Hanuman & Swami Vivekananda on the sides of the roads.
Our next stop was
Vijawada which was midway where we stopped for lunch. A restaurant called Sweet
Magic. We went with the Non-Veg Thali which was superb. Lassi to wash it all
down and we were good to go. On the way out we went through a little tunnel on
the Hills on the outskirts as we exited the city.
By late evening we were nearly on the outskirts oh
Hyderabad, so we stopped for some Coffee by a road side Stall. After stretching
our legs we finally hit Hyderabad. The traffic was horrible. Coming from
Kolkata, it seemed worse than home.
Anyway we finally made it to our Hotel and our odometer read
1582 kms, we had covered another 685 kms today.
Our hotel was the most horrendous one we’ve ever encountered
in our travel diaries till now. The less I say about that the better. But after
a lot of back and forth with MakeMyTrip on the phone, we had no choice but to
stay the night.
