When in Mumbai, Shopping at Bandra Linking Road is a Must
I wanted to head out to Lands End Bandra to get a good view of the Bandra-Worli Sealink. After spending some time here at Bandra Fort, we decided to take a walk down to Linking Road.
It was quite hilarious to watch all these people coming to this gate and clicking pictures. Then we realised this is Shah Rukh Khan's famous Bungalow "Mannat". Spendt some time here just to see how these fans kept hanging around in the hopes of catching a glimpse of "King Khan" in case he decided to make an appearance, which I hear he does on occasion, climbing up on that platform and waving at the crowds gathered outside.
After the shopping spree at Linking Road and that long walk, we had built up an appetite and found this quirky place called TAP Resto Bar. Fueled with Beer, Food & Music, we headed out again.

Later that evening we went to one of Mumbai's best Gujarati Cuisine Restaurants. Chetana in Fort area is a Vegetarian's Delight.

Classic Car Spotted, Fiat 1100
I wasn't doing anything in particular today and so imagine my surprise when I had decided to take a stroll around the neighbourhood and right outside my gate I saw this car! I knew it was a Classic as soon as I spotted it. The hood was up and i stood around till the driver got in and started it.
It was a nice 10 minutes of AutoMania for me. I didn't get to chat with them, but I figured it was a Fiat 1100 and that to in immaculate condition.
The Fiat 1100/103 was imported to India and sold by Premier Automobiles Limited (PAL). The older model was known as the Millecento and the one with the centre light on the front grille (1100/103 E) as the Elegant. In 1958, the 1100/103 D tailfin model was introduced as the Select. It was followed by the Super Select in 1961. By 1964, the 1100 D was introduced and it was assembled in India by PAL. This model has most of the parts manufactured locally. In India it was considered a sportier alternative than the Hindustan Ambassador.

Walking around Fort in Mumbai
The Town Hall that houses the Asiatic Society of Bombay was not built in 1804, the year in which the Literary Society of Bombay was formed. Though Sir James Mackintosh mooted the proposal for a grand edifice, it was not completed until the year 1830 (year to be confirmed with tablet on the entrance) after many fits and starts, when the Government of Bombay agreed to make up for the shortfall in funds in return for office-space. The after-effects of this compromise can still be seen in the unseemly crowds gathered at the Stamp Office and other government departments in the Town Hall.
It is now classified a heritage structure. Heavily influenced by Greek and Roman architecture, it has a portico with eight Doric columns. A flight of 30 steps lead up to the town hall and a wrought iron divided Regency staircase leads to the vestibule. In 1830 Sir John Malcolm, governor of Bombay stated: "It is the most magnificent structure that taste and munificence combined have as yet erected in India."
The edifice is in the prime Fort area of South Mumbai overlooking the Horniman Circle Gardens and the Reserve Bank of India.
Mumbai is probably the only city in India that still operates Double Decker Buses as Public Transport.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) formerly known as Victoria Terminus is a historic railway station and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. The station has been designed by Frederick William Stevens according to the concept of Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and meant to be a similar revival of Indian Goth (classical era) architecture. The station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Mumbai to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station has been built where the Bori Bunder railway station[3] once stood. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India, serving as a terminal for both long-distance trains and commuter trains. The station's name was changed from Victoria Terminus (with code BB) to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (with code CSTM) in March 1996 in honour of Emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji, founder of the Maratha Empire. In 2017, the station was again renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (with code CSMT).
